How to use the Technology Radar
The Believe Technology Radar is a strategic tool designed to guide our teams in understanding and adopting the technologies that align with our goals and values. Here's how to use it:
1. Understand the Quadrants
The radar is divided into four quadrants representing different technology categories:
- Methods & Patterns: New methods, practices, or workflows for development and operations.
- PlatforPlatforms & Operations: Infrastructure, cloud services, or software environments.
- Tools: Specific software or systems used for development, testing, or deployment.
- Languages & Frameworks: Programming languages, libraries, or frameworks.
2. Recognize the Rings
Each quadrant has concentric rings that indicate the maturity or adoption level of the technology:
- Adopt: Proven technologies that are recommended for widespread use.
- Trial: Promising technologies that are being tested in real-world projects.
- Assess: Emerging technologies that are under consideration and experimentation.
- Hold: Technologies to avoid due to limitations or misalignment with company goals.
